FamilyTraditionFirearms.com accepts cash or money orders. We no longer accept credit or debit cards and no longer offer the option of buying online which will allow us to charge cheaper prices due to no longer having to pay high credit card fees.

If you see an item you want to purchase, please call us at 336-280-1099 and as soon as we receive your payment and information we will send your item to you.

First, click here to find an FFL dealer in your area. The dealer you choose is the location your firearm will be shipped, where you will do a background check, and where you will pick it up. Note: all firearms requires shipment to an FFL dealer. However, most black powder weapons do not require a FFL dealer so you can skip this step.

Please contact the dealer and let them know to email Family Tradition Firearms at support@FamilyTraditionFirearms.com with a signed copy of their FFL and their business address so the firearm transfer can take place.

Please call or text us at 336-280-1099 or email us at support@FamilyTraditionFirearms.com letting us know which firearm you want. Once we receive your payment and the FFL dealers information we will mail the firearm to your chosen FFL dealer and send you a tracking number so you can track the firearm throughout the mailing process.

We accept cash or post office money orders. Please do not mail cash–this is for in person only. We no longer accept credit or debit cards and no longer offer the option of buying online which will allow us to lower our prices somewhat due to no longer having to pay high credit card processing fees.

Please mail your post office money order to the following address, including the total price for the firearm plus shipping ($25.00 for handguns and $40.00 for long guns):

You can track your order. Typically the tracking number will be emailed to you once the carrier has picked up and scanned the package. In most cases this will be in the evening on the day you placed the order.

In most cases we ship out items the same day. However, at times, such as during holidays or political gun scares, we may or may not be running a little behind.

No orders will be shipped on nationally recognized holidays or on any day recognized by the U.S. Postal Service and/or United Parcel Service as a holiday.

Priority Mail shipments usually are delivered within 2-3 business days depending upon your location. This timeframe is NOT guaranteed and transit times may exceed 2-3 business days.

Once an order’s tracking information shows the order has been delivered, Family Tradition Firearms is no longer responsible for the package.

All Federal Firearm License laws apply when purchasing a firearm. Anyone desiring to purchase a firearm must be able to pass a background check. There are age limits on the sale of certain items. Certain types of weapons and magazines/clip capacity are prohibited in certain places. It is the buyers responsibility to know if you can legally possess certain firearms and magazines/clips.

The NRA put together a state-by-state gun laws guide. You can read it by clicking here. The ATF has compiled information on the various state laws as well and you can read it by clicking here.

Again, it is YOUR responsibility to make sure that you comply with federal, state, and local laws.

You do not have to be a licensed dealer to buy a firearm. If you are not a licensed dealer (also called an FFL Holder or FFL Dealer), you must make arrangements with an FFL holder in your state to receive the item and transfer it to you. (Note to C&R holders: if you are a C&R holder you already know the Byzantine C&R rules so we will not repeat them here). Virtually anyone who is involved in the sale or distribution of firearms is an FFL holder, including gun shops. The customer must make arrangements with their FFL holder to receive any firearm, receiver, or any other item described by the ATF as a firearm. For any firearm purchase, the buyer must be able to pass a background check.

In general, you must be 18 years old to buy firearm related items from our company (in person or online). No age restrictions are placed on items such as hats, gloves, apparel, books, cases, bags, etc…

We DO NOT ship high-capacity magazines with firearms to the states where prohibited.

We WILL NOT replace high capacity magazines with state compliant magazines.

We DO NOT offer refunds in place of the magazines

Family Tradition Firearms DOES NOT ship high capacity magazines to the states where prohibited.

We DO NOT offer refunds in place of the magazines.

It is the customer’s responsibility for understanding state and local laws regarding magazine capacities.

Customers ordering magazines that are illegal to own in their state will have their orders cancelled and will be charged a 5% restocking fee.

If you have any questions or doubts about whether an item can be shipped to you, please contact us.

Gunsmithing FAQ's

Yes. You can contact our gunsmith, Westley, by visiting our contact page. Please keep in mind a reply might take some time but we try to answer within 24 hours.

For repairs, cleanings, or other service work an individual may ship their firearm directly to Family Tradition Firearms, LLC without the assistance of an FFL dealer. An FFL holder/dealer is not required.

However, the firearm must be returned to the individual that sent the firearm to us.

NOTE: Please make sure the firearm is unloaded before shipping.

No, if the firearm is being returned to the person from whom it was received. If however, the firearm is delivered to a person other than the person from whom received, a NICS background check is required.

First, please get confirmation from the gunsmith before shipping your firearm to us.

We recommend you package the firearm yourself. There is no such thing as over packaging when shipping a firearm. We suggest shipping using a gun case, which is boxed in heavy cardboard. You want to make sure that all components are protected from each other so the firearm isn’t damaged.

We film all unboxing of firearms, so if the shipped firearm(s) are not boxed properly and they become damaged through shipping Family Tradition Firearms, LLC will not be responsible for the damages.

Include in the package a detailed letter describing the work you wish quoted or the exact mechanical problem you are experiencing.

Make sure your contact information with a daytime telephone number and return shipping information is present in the letter as well.

When shipping a firearm, always insure against worst case scenario so, insure for the entire replacement cost.

We accept firearms from any of the major shipping agents, UPS, Fed-Ex, US Mail, DHL etc. Firearms are returned using UPS exclusively.

Firearms being sent for service can be sent by an individual, they do NOT require transfer through an FFL licensee.

NOTE: Please make sure the firearm is unloaded before shipping.

We do not have a written or stated warranty. We do stand behind all of our work and we always keep proof that the firearm(s) were in good working and physical condition before leaving the shop.

We test fire all firearms after repair, so we will need the entire firearm.

No. We want ALL of our customers to be happy, but we will not put one job ahead of the other unless we are waiting for parts, etc…

Not ANY firearm, but most. If we cannot source parts for the model of firearm you have we will not be able to work on/repair the firearm. It is best to contact us ahead of time to find out.

We do not work on or repair air rifles and any firearms deemed unsafe or illegal.

No, we do not make parts at this time.

The only way to truly fix a bad spot in the bluing is to reblue the whole component. However, there are some temporary fixes and processes for protecting those bad spots and help them be less noticeable as well. Contact us for more details.

This varies depending on the condition of the firearm and our workload. We strive for two to four weeks, but that is not guaranteed.

All gunsmithing quotes are FREE.

Every firearm is different, so there is no way for us to quote a repair until it is in our hands. There are things to consider; condition of the gun, required parts, level of difficulty and time.

The only thing you will have to pay is the return shipping.

We prefer to handle the prep work ourselves. Preserving the checkering and the fit of the wood and all of the various factory stamping and engravings on the metal is a crucial part of the restoration process. Any damage that occurs to those areas, can result in extensive labor costs.

This question will be debated until the end of time because opinions vary. There is not a straightforward answer. The majority of the time, the answer will be no, it does not hurt the value, especially if the work is done by a professional.

Rust blue complete firearm refers to bluing the barrels using the rust blue method and the rest of the firearm is conventionally blued. Only the barrels will be rust blued.

There are numerous finishes available and that is up to the customer. We will do as requested, but might make suggestions.
